American CareSource Holdings Appoints Matthew Thompson Controller and Principal Accounting Officer

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - April 28, 2008) - American CareSource Holdings, Inc. (AMEX: XSI) today announced that Matthew Thompson has joined the Company in the position of Controller and Principal Accounting Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Thompson, 36, will report directly to Steven J. Armond, Chief Financial Officer.  

Commenting on today's news, Mr. Armond stated, "We are pleased to welcome Matthew to the Company. He joins the business at a crucial juncture in our corporate growth and with his solid financial expertise, including his public company experience, Matthew will play an integral role within our organization."

Prior to joining American CareSource, Mr. Thompson was Director of Financial Reporting at Highland Financial Partners, L.P., an affiliate of Highland Capital Management L.P., in Dallas, Texas. Prior to that, he spent nine years with publicly-held Tyler Technologies, Inc., a Dallas-based leading provider of integrated, end-to-end information management solutions and services to local governments. While there, Mr. Thompson served in various positions, most recently as Division Controller of Tyler's Courts & Justice and Appraisal & Tax Divisions. Before joining Tyler Technologies, Mr. Thompson spent five years with Ernst & Young, LLP.

Mr. Thompson, a Certified Public Accountant, earned his Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
