Biography of President & CEO,
RICHARD G. HUNTER
Richard G. Hunter is a
native of Oklahoma and received BS and MS degrees in Environmental Science from Oklahoma
State University. He completed a Master of
Public Administration degree at the University of Oklahoma and received a Ph.D. in
Environmental Health, also from the University of Oklahoma.
Dr.
Hunter was named President and CEO of Food Technology Service, Incorporated (FTSI) in
September 2001. FTSI is a NASDAQ-listed
company that is a pioneer in food irradiation. For
the previous 12 years, Hunter was Florida's Deputy State Health Officer where he was
responsible for overall direction of about 11,000 headquarters and county health
department employees dedicated to preventing illnesses from a variety of factors. In addition, he has held a variety of
progressively responsible positions related to public health in state, local and federal
agencies.
Dr. Hunter has received
several professional awards for his disease prevention activities and has served on
numerous local, state and federal government advisory boards relating to public health
issues. He is the author of 18 scientific
papers.

Mr. Hunter: We are one of
the first commercial irradiators of food and use the process to kill harmful pathogens and
spoilage organisms. In addition, we do some
food packaging products and occasionally some consumer products to either sterilize them
or reduce the pathogens.
