TECSYS
Inc. provides a complete suite of enterprise software solutions to companies in the
distribution link of the supply chain covering everything from purchasing to order
management to shipping TECSYS Inc. (TCS TXS) is a leading Supply Chain Management software company that provides powerful enterprise distribution software solutions. TECSYS' EliteSeries SCM software suite spans the office to the shipping dock and beyond. TECSYS EliteSeries powers hundreds of successful world-class distribution operations around the globe, Enabling Supply Chain Excellence. The EliteSeries Web-based suite of Enterprise Performance Management, Distribution Management, Warehouse Management, Transportation Management, and E-Commerce solutions can be deployed as an integrated suite or as stand-alone best-of-breed components. They are focused on serving the complex business application needs of the Healthcare (medical/surgical and pharmaceutical), 3PL, and General Wholesale Distribution markets. There is definitely an increased focus on a direct return of investment. There are areas of a product line like ours that can be directly linked to ROI, such as transportation management. Offers Mr. Peter Brereton, President and Co-CEO of TECSYS Inc., We can make the case and back it up with case studies that the entire implementation cost of software and services pays for itself in less than six months in reduced transportation costs. You will typically see people looking at the office side from a standpoint of what they can do for their customer service, and how can they improve by moving ahead with the implementation. It is a combination of ROI, which is cost savings driven, and a return to the overall business that is customer service driven. Pointing to the Companys competitive edge Mr. Brereton tells us, At this point, there are a number of players in the market, and everyone has their unique claim to fame. However, where we believe we stand out is in the area of integration. There is no other player out there today that has a market-leading office-side distribution system which is fully integrated with an industrial strength warehouse management system, coupled with a complete enterprise transportation management system, accessible through a strategic business intelligence and executive decision making system, and real-time communications customers and suppliers handled by a feature rich e-commerce system. In most cases, customers are forced to choose a group of stand-alone vendors that they hope will work together to provide the solution and have to manage the integration themselves. Whereas in our case, we provide a single vendor solution right out of the box fully integrated. That is our primary claim to fame. As you drill a little deeper, we are the company in this space that can handle extremely high volumes of transactions. We have one account that is processing four hundred thousand order lines in a four-hour window each day. We are also the company with the most flexible rebate tracking system. We have a very flexible pricing system, and we provide a complete cradle to grave lot control system, as well as DEA licensing for the pharmaceutical industry, and as a result, almost 40% of our business is in the pharmaceutical space. Our key market segments include healthcare distribution (pharmaceutical and medical/surgical supplies distribution), general wholesale (to retail) distribution, and 3PL (third party logistics) providers. When asked how TECSYS is attracting new customers, Mr. Brereton responded, We have seen the change coming over the last few years in terms of a drive toward web-based systems. In January of this year, we introduced our EliteSeries 7.1, which is a new revision of our product line. It now runs entirely in the intuitive web browser, in a total HTML website format on the internal network or externally to be accessed anywhere on the Web. That new release has had a dramatic impact on our sales. We have seen very strong reception to that product line and our win rate has close to doubled. We are seeing continued good momentum. It is too early given the fact that we are only five or six months into that to say that it is a continuing trend, but certainly the reaction to this point was very positive. Addressing the Companys acquisition strategy Mr. Brereton states, Acquisitions are part of our plans and we have continued to focus on a product acquisition strategy. In other words, not acquiring companies purely for the value of adding their revenue to our income statement, but more where we see a benefit in our product line. Back in 2000, we recognized that there was a need in our pipeline, and we did not have a transportation management solution. When we spoke with our customers and prospects, this was something they wanted to see as part of our suite. We went out and talked to a dozen different transportation software companies and ended up acquiring a transportation company in Toronto, which was called Disticom and now called TECSYS Transportation Systems. We will continue with our acquisition strategy and would like to acquire an advance forecasting software company. If we see an opportunity to purchase a company that had a large user base that would logically migrate forward with EliteSeries, that is something we would seriously consider. Our driving motivation has been adding to our product line and delivering more value to our customers. EliteSeries
