Press Release - American CareSource Holdings, Inc. (XSI-AMEX)

“If you look at a graph of what ancillary care spend looks like between 1980 and today, ancillary care spend in 1980 was roughly 25% of the overall healthcare spend at that point in time in the nation, today it represents north of 30% which makes it a nearly $600 billion market for services. It is taking a larger share of the pie and is expected to do so over time. For us we feel like we are uniquely positioned in the space. We are not aware of another business similar to ours...” - Steven J. Armond (XSI) (Interview published April 18, 2008)

American CareSource Holdings Set to Join Russell 3000(R) Index

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - June 18, 2009) -

American CareSource Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ANCI) today announced that it is set to join the broad-market Russell 3000® Index when Russell Investments reconstitutes its comprehensive set of U.S. and global equity indexes on June 26, 2009 according to a preliminary list of additions posted June 12, 2009 on www.russell.com.

David S. Boone, Chief Executive Officer of American CareSource, noted, "We are pleased that American CareSource will join the Russell 3000® Index this year. Our inclusion reflects our continued progress in building the Company on a national scale and addressing the critical need to reduce U.S. ancillary health care costs while maintaining high quality standards. As part of this year's Russell 3000® Index, American CareSource should benefit from increased investor awareness and interest."

Annual reconstitution of Russell's U.S. indexes captures the largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. Membership in the Russell 3000®, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the large-cap Russell 1000® Index or small-cap Russell 2000® Index as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes. Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes. The Russell 3000® also serves as the U.S. component to the Russell Global Index, which Russell launched in 2007.

Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. An industry-leading $4 trillion in assets currently are benchmarked to them. These investment tools originated from Russell's multi-manager investment business in the early 1980s when the company saw the need for a more objective, market-driven set of benchmarks in order to evaluate outside investment managers. Total returns data for the Russell 3000® and other Russell Indexes is available at http://www.russell.com/Indexes/performance/default.asp.
