Western Lakota Announces Meeting Results

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 24, 2006) - Western Lakota Energy Services Inc. (TSX:WLE) ("Western Lakota") is pleased to announce the results of the special meeting of its securityholders held today regarding the merger of Western Lakota and Savanna Energy Services Corp. (TSX:SVY). Western Lakota securityholders overwhelmingly approved the plan of arrangement by 99% of the votes cast. The court application for the final order and closing of the arrangement is scheduled to occur on August 25, 2006.

Upon court approval and closing of the transaction, the merged company will operate 79 drilling rigs, 35 wireline units, 22 service rigs and 5 coil tubing service units. After completing the 2006 Construction Plan, the Company will operate 103 drilling rigs, 37 wireline units, 22 service rigs and 8 coil tubing service units. The new entity will be a leading energy services provider in North America, focused on delivering strong results for shareholders, customers and partners.
